Background of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, OAU, Ile-Ife
The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is an academic and research institution dedicated to the study, promotion, and advancement of entrepreneurship and economic development in Nigeria. It started as the Centre for Industrial Research and Development (CIRD) in 1968 and became an Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies in 2013.
The mandate of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Development Studies is to provide quality education, research and training in the fields of entrepreneurship, business development and management. The institute strives to equip individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge and mindset to become successful entrepreneurs and leaders in their respective fields. Through its programmes, the institute aims to promote innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship as tools for socio-economic development and sustainable growth.
